The Road: Home
October 2021 Lewis is the production and communtiy editor of the zine 'The Road', which focuses on mental health, self acceptance, and community building. Lewis is one of the writers; producing poetry to be published alongside his co-writer and editor Elise. Designed by Harry Fisher and this zine includes artworks from local South London artists. Issue Three was released 10th October 2021 to coincide with World Mental Health Day under the title 'Home'. 20% of profit is donated to The Mental Health Foundation. Housewarming
by Tatenda Shamiso August 2021 After having been involved with the fringe commissioning of this project in 2020, prior to the pandemic, Lewis worked as production manager on this theatre production. Housewarming explored notions of home, diaspora, and displacement. We follow four performers who all embody one character, Anashe. Lewis acted as business development support, marketing lead, and stage manager for the production, which was staged at The Cockpit Theatre and Etcetera Theatre as part of Camden Fringe 2021. |
< i m o g e n > or, The Post-Modern Prometheus
by The Glass Collective 3rd & 4th June 2021 In 2021, Lewis established The Glass Collective with four other artists. They came together to produce < i m o g e n >, an absurd comedy exploring what it means to be human, to belong. Five researchers play god and as they do their own personal losses become evermore present. Drawing from Mary Shelley's 'Frankenstein or, The Modern Prometheus', this show used Artificial Intelligence to create a human identity. The performance was performed five times across the two days in The George Wood Theatre, Goldsmiths. |

Issue Two was released 1st March 2021 to coincide with Student Mental Health Week under the title 'New Beginnings'. 20% of profit will be donated to The Mental Health Foundation. Suitcase Under the Stairs a 'wipe your feet theatre' production, 11th & 12th February 2021 Lewis is Co-Artistic Director and Co-Founder of 'wipe your feet theatre', a theatre collective aimed at sharing personal stories in intimate spaces. They also work across community groups and work with different demographics to help then explore their own stories. The company's first project is Suitcase Under the Stairs, which is a piece written by Lewis, devised by the company that explores the use of drag as a tool for self-acceptance. Realness Revolution!
16th & 17th Dec 2020 Commissioned as part of Boundless Theatre's 2020 'Boundless Happenings' project, which commissions emerging artists from across London to create a 20 minute digital theatre piece. 'Realness Revolution!' is set in a camp dystopian world where ROSE XO is the authoritarian ruler. Lewis (performing as themself) must protest and fight to infiltrate ROSE XO's Campy Cabinet. The audience are given polls throughout the story, which decides Lewis' actions. Letters of Liberation
May 2020 Lewis created a text-video piece titled 'Pebbles' as a commission for Tee Jay Sayyid's digital exhibition of performance work from across the world during COVID-19. Lewis' piece explores loss, memory and object through a blend of video distillation, body morphing, and experimental poetry. The event ran for 24hours on 25th May 2020 and showcased 30 global artists, reached 34.5k spectators, and ended up being reviewed in Integrity Magazine. The Lumiere Sisters
Oct 2019- Aug 2020 A neo-burlesque troupe consisting of ROSE XO, Vivienne Noir, & Lady Caberia. They had 2 SOLD OUT shows at John, The Unicorn in Peckham and performed at Crass Menagerie in Deptford. Vivienne Noir and ROSE XO are currently working on a new project together, which will be announced soon. |
TRASHY TUESDAYS
a.k.a 'Drag Me To Filth' (Sep 2020 onwards) Jan 2019- Present During their studies at Goldsmiths, University of London, Lewis/ROSE XO created and hosted a weekly queer event at Goldsmiths Student's Union. It featured a crazy quiz, karaoke mayhem, and a lot of hilarious comedy. It became a staple event at the venue and was featured as their leading event in Freshers Week 2020. The event was adapted in September 2020 to be available for other Students Unions in the UK under the name 'Drag Me To Filth' and has been performed digitally and in person for Bath SU, Southampton SU, Birmingham SU, and Goldsmiths SU. |
