Hey there! I'm Lewis and I am a multidisciplinary artist-facilitator-producer who aims to develop new ways of thinking about cabaret practice.
I explore how cabaret processes can be used in new settings, such as participatory/community arts, education and arts based therapies. Much of my practice and research focuses around ideas of identity, gender, belonging, and agency. I graduated with a First Class Honours from BA (Hons) Performance, Politics & Society at Goldsmiths, University of London in 2021 and I am now the Associate Artist for 2021/22.
My work focuses on facilitation and working with a variety of different community groups. This can take place in care homes, youth theatre settings, prisons, pupil referral units, special education settings, and within a variety of charities. I work as a facilitator for organisations such as Group 64 Theatre for Young People, Brighter Together, Half Moon Children & Young People's Theatre, Talk Consent, Safegrounds, Beyond Equality, and Tramshed. Alongside this, I have worked as an arts producer setting up four arts organisations over the past 5 years: New Cross Theatre (2021-), The Glass Collective (2021), Wipe Your Feet Theatre (2020-), The Arcade Youth Theatre (2015-2019)
I am fully DBS checked and have a full clean Drivers License. I hope you enjoy looking at my work and I would love to hear from you.
